AYAME DJINNDRAGOONAyame was not born a warrior, but became one when the Lords of the Dead attacked and utterly destroyed her peaceful mountain tribe. Only fourteen at the time, Ayame was little more than a child when her people fell before the nightmares of the Deadlands, and witnessing that horrendous act has a permanent and deep scar on her soul. It has been four years since that horrible day, when Kingsley's Survivors saved her from the claws of the undead, and she has been fighting them ever since "graduating" from Kingsley's intensive training program, which he insisted she take before he would let her take up arms against the undead (see Kingsley Mont-Callahie, Survivors). It was a program she aggressively attacked and dominated, graduating at the top of her class and earning a spot on Kingsley's elite team. Even with her scars, Ayame is one of the sweetest young women in the land. People who know her feel an overwhelming sense of sadness, unable (or unwilling) to imagine her fighting viciously against the beings that took everything from her (not sweet Ayame!), but those who have seen her berserker rage in the presence of undead know that there is definitely another side to this kind and timid woman. She is a master of many weapons, but in combat she prefers the Great Spear, which she wields with deadly effect. While she is eternally loyal and thankful to Kingsley, and hates the undead with her every fiber, her true reason for staying with the Survivors has to do with her feelings for Kingsley's lieutenant, Kaleb (see Kaleb Du'Morte). It was he that she saw first on that horrible day, cutting through the undead to come to her rescue, and ever since that day, nobody else has replaced him in her heart. The problem with this, of course, is that Kaleb is in love with Numa, Kingsley's daughter (see Numa Mont-Callahie). Ayame quietly sits in the background, awaiting her chance with Kaleb. Numa is her best friend, and Ayame is not the kind of girl that would betray her, so she sits in silence and waits for her day.
