DISCORDIADiscordia is a Lord of the Dead, and is known among the people as the Mother of Murders (see Lords of the Dead). She has control over the souls of murderers, assassins, and dealers of death. She also owns the souls of people who have died in violent ways. It was Discordia that had Lazarus in her power after his death at Charosminnakhan, and when the Children brought him back to life, it fell to Discordia to recapture him (see Lazarus, Children of the Risen and Rerisen). To do so, she deployed her top agents, the Undead Assassins, to the Kingdom of Sauros, where Lazarus was expected to show up. They managed to infiltrate Castle Sauros itself, and await the arrival of Lazarus. Discordia's origins, like all the Lords of the Dead, is shrowded in mystery. Long ago, she was a human, fascinated with death to the point where she researched the lore of the Ancients until she found a way to not only beat death, but to take control of the dead. She succeeded, and has been mastering her craft ever since. In her homeland, the hills were scattered with ruins from a time long ago. An ancient race of incredibly brilliant and civilized beings populated the area, and recorded their knowledge for future generations. The race died suddenly and mysteriously, but remnants of their lore remained, and it was this lore that a young Discordia discovered and which fed her dreams of eternal life. Nobody alive today has seen what Discordia looks like under her cowl. Some say she is so beautiful that to see her is to die, while others say her experiments deformed and scarred her, and her vanity causes her to hide herself from all eyes. The truth is anyone's guess. Discordia is the most even-tempered of the Lords. While Libitnia and Bellicosus fight, Nameless plots, and Thanatos desperately tries to hold everyone together and focused on the goal at hand, Discordia sits back and waits for the waves to settle down. Not one to make a scene of herself, or cause undue confrontations, she is comfortable sitting in the shadows and waiting for things to fall in her lap. On the surface, she supports the goals of the Lords of the Dead, but deep inside she has her own agenda. . .
