K'WASHI MBADALA

K'Washi is the longest-standing member of Kingsley's Survivors (after Kingsley, of course), and serves as his advisor and confidante (see Kingsley Mont-Callahie, the Survivors).  Her wisdom and insight are rivaled only by her mystical powers and affinity with nature.  Before joining Kingsley, K'Washi was an apprentice to the Wise Woman of her southern tribe, and on a spiritual pilgrimage and Holy Quest given to her in a vision on her Night of Ascension.  The vision commanded her to battle the growing blight of the Deadlands before it grew out of control and made it to the lands of her people.

She met up with Kingsley in what could only be considered the designs of Fate, because he had dreamed of her and knew who she was and where to find her.  They immediately forged a bond, and together they created the Survivors, the training institute, and a legend that will last forever.

The power that K'Washi brings to the Survivors has helped them get out of more seemingly impossible situations than any of the Survivors care to count.  She allows the Survivors to go undetected in the Deadlands, which hides them from unwanted attention, and keeps the Lords of the Dead guessing as to their location (see Lords of the Dead).  Otherwise, all undead within miles would be on them in a constant wave of undying claws and teeth.

K'Washi knows that she may never see her homeland again, but so long as she can prevent the Deadlands from getting to her family and people, she will consider her life a success.
